Privacy
Times Table Monster collects nothing. The app sends no data to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no login, no server, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party library in the code. The app makes no internet connection at all.
One exception, on a television only
On an Android TV or Apple TV a child can say the answer out loud, because pointing at everything with a remote is awkward. The app does not recognise speech itself. The television’s own speech feature does that. If the language model is on the television, the recording stays there. If it is not, the maker of that feature processes it, and the sound leaves the device.
On a phone or tablet this feature does not exist and no microphone is ever requested. What the game stores always stays on the device.
What the app does store, and where
Everything stays on the device, in the app's own storage:
- progress per child: which sums were practised, how often correct, how fast, on which days, and which cups and diplomas were earned;
- the name and colour the child gives their monster;
- the parent's settings, including the PIN, which is stored encrypted and never as plain text.
Delete the app and all of it goes with it. No copy remains anywhere else, because there is no copy anywhere else.
Children
This app is made for children, which is exactly why the choice to send nothing is absolute: no name, no age, no location, no contact detail is collected or shared, and nothing about the device either. The name the child invents belongs to a monster in the game and stays on the device.
Screen Time
If the parent turns on the Screen Time feature, the app uses Apple's own mechanism to release other apps for a while. The parent chooses which apps, and that choice stays on the device. Apple does not share it with us and we cannot access it.
Permissions
The app does not ask for access to the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or notifications.
Changes and contact
